About Jake Tyler
In April 2016 Jake became an inspirational mental health advocate after blogging and creating videos about living with his depression.
Last year he decided to walk the length and breadth of mainland Great Britain to promote the positive effects of movement on mental health.
Over the past year he’s walked nearly 2000 miles around the most beautiful parts of mainland Great Britain to promote movement as a tool to manage depression, and to try and inspire people to take control of their mental health in a positive, open, exercise led way. He says “Walking, initially, helped me feel like I was in control, and after 6 months walking the south coast of England and Wales, I got approached to take part in a BBC ONE documentary called Mind Over Marathon. It was during filming that I fell in love with running and community, two things that work so perfectly together and have stuck with me on the second half of my walk.”
“My approach to mental health management focuses around the themes of movement, openness and community as being the best tools we have, and I’ve made it my mission to promote awareness in the places in the UK I visit and to the amazing people I meet along the way. None of it would have happened without first accepting the help of others, and if I can do this, anyone can.”
We are delighted to have Jake on board with us as a brand ambassador encouraging people to live life the unfiltered way.
