APNI is a small charity offering support to sufferers or anyone affected by Postnatal Illness. The charity was founded in a Fulham living room in 1979 by a lovely lady and ex sufferer herself, Clare Delpech.
The main service APNI offer is the helpline where anyone can contact us for free, confidential postnatal advice, support and reassurance.
In addition to this we also have a lovely bank of mums who have been through and recovered from postnatal illnesses who offer to support a mum struggling via telephone (0207 386 0868) or email, this type of support can be invaluable for anyone struggling to get out and about or attend groups. It is a lifeline to many.
We also have the website, which now includes an instant live chat box where during our office hours anyone can speak to people online immediately via the link.
“APNI are thrilled to be an Unfiltered Society Supporter as it really is a great way of changing how we see mental health. Unfiltered translates as honest and we do need more open, honest discussions around mental health to help end the needless suffering and anguish of so many who feel they have to hide how they really feel. We are all susceptible and think this is a great project to support.”
